DID YOU FEEL THE MOUNTAINS TREMBLE?

Wow -- this morning at church we worshiped and we sang a song we had probably sung at least twenty times before...but today it was different. The song was "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble?" by Delirious (Martin Smith, 1995).

Today the words were different...they had context...I felt the mountains tremble. The words were real...the words were deep...they were personal. They brought back strong emotions from our trip to Kenya and I could only think about my brothers and sisters worshiping 8,000 miles away in the Kager Vision Centre.

Here are the words we sang to the Lord this morning:

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
Did you feel the people tremble?

Did you hear the singers roar?

When the people rose to sing of Jesus Christ the risen one

And we can see that God you're moving
A MIGHTY RIVER THROUGH THE NATIONS

And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Did you feel the darkness tremble?
When all the saints join in one song
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokenness

And here we see that God you're moving
A TIME OF JUBILEE IS COMING
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

It literally blew me away -- there in the heart of this song the words RIVER and JUBILEE tied together -- just as we have seen them tie together in the Jubilee Village Project for Kager, Kenya. God is good and God is big. Wow, what a day!

Nath (Ned),

It's good to hear your voice. I found your message a few weeks back and have been meaning to drop you another "comment".

You've been buzy. The thought that comes to mind is, "You are definitely 'embracing' a much higher cailng." God is smiling on your "offering". Maybe one day I will rise to such a calling; it's the only thing that really counts for anything!

How did I find you? - bored one day at school and felt a little nastalgic. There are about a dozen of you who I google ever now and than. Your usually right near the top of that list. This sight was about the first hit!

So much for a Christmas letter this year. I always have good intentions but they never seem to come to fruition. I'm off to Canada in a few hours (driving) - maybe something will happen during my stops along the way.

In the meantime, "comment" communication is a little silly. Drop me a short note someday when you get the chance (Robsuttsutton@aol.com) and I will fill you in on what is happening here in California.

May you, Melissa, and all the girls have a great Christmas Holiday!
